Susie Singer Carter - No Country for Old People

Susie Singer Carter, a Director, Producer, Actress ended up being the primary caretaker for her mom, Norma Pecora, as she concluded her life. The journey was a disaster. The facilities charged with leading Norma's care, failed over and over. This epxerience caused Susie to put her storytelling skills to work. She created a documentary called No Country for Old  People. NCFOP is a cautionary tale exposing decades of lethal neglect in Nursing Facilities. A systemic crisis caused by an industry that subscribes to the notion that honesty is far less profitable than dishonesty and views human beings as commodities.   Dr Hal Bradley's decades long experience working in the hospice and care space makes him the perfect partner for this conversation. Ryan Haight – Faith was the Path Back from Addiction

Nick Christophers – From Mob to Author, a Path to Redemption

 On this episode of the Break It Down Show. Nick Christophers and Dr Hal Bradley share their journeys from crime to redemption. Nick, inspired by The Outsiders, turned from gang life and mob connections in Queens to authorship. Nick has written fact-based fiction and true crime books about Greek and Italian syndicates. Dr Hal, a former Sinaloa Cartel trafficker and DOJ contractor, found purpose as a prison hospice counselor and novelist. Both men expose injustices, like wrongful convictions of associates, and emphasize documenting their pasts to preserve truth. Their transformation through writing offers hope, proving that even from darkness, redemption and purpose can emerge. Despite these men living lives of crime, they each found a path out through love, religion and family. 

Pete A Turner – Veteran Transition, Fact or Fiction

 Pete A Turner and Dr Hal Bradley get together to discuss Veteran transition. Transition is beguiling for all involved. Mix in the singular peculiarities of an individual veteran and presto, a nasty problem emerges. The problems are varied from the civilian side being unsure how to find, engage and integrate veterans into their companies to case management worthy veterans who struggle to find their footing due to mental health issues.   From homelessness, Korea, to Gulf War Syndrome, Hal and Pete dig in on how to best describe this collection of problems. It's one thing to raise one's hand and say, I'm going to help transition veterans. It's a whole different thing to find a reliable and repeatable path to accomplish transition.  Logan Terry is a dad, a husband and a devout Christian. Logan faced with what appeared to be the end of his life, just as it was beginning experienced a miracle. Doctors struggled to explain, yet must admit, his cancer is in remission. A miracle.   Logan's story moved Dr Hal Bradley. Hal has witnessed several miracles in his time working as a pastor. This includes Hal surviving his assassination. Richard Kaufman – Vertical Momentum

Richard Kaufman was broken. He said he wanted to be better, but he never seemed to do the things that would make him better. He failed at being the Army, he worked his way back...still, by his own admission, he was a "shit bag." He was on his way out of the Army for a second time...then 9/11 changed him. Living within sight of the towers, he finally figured out how to get past the things that captured him. It was a long road...but he kept at it until finally he began to succeed. Then he had to medically retire from the Army. All Richard knew was service...so he struggled.

 Pete A Turner returns to the Crisis Victory Show to chat with Dr Hal Bradley about PTSD, getting help, and how our pasts impact us.  Pete and Hal compare and contrast combat vs criminal choices. When damage occurs, Pete and Hal, suggest get help, keep working to find the right counselor, therapy do peer therapy, etc. Getting better is possible, it's not easy. It took years to get to the point of damage...working constantly and diligently to get well take the same effort and time. It's possible to get better.
